Journal Prompts

What characteristics or traits do you find unacceptable in others? When have you embodied these traits? Why are they unacceptable? Who taught you that?

When you were a small child you had a dream. What was it? Are you living that dream now or did someone convince you it wasn’t realistic?

What aspect of your personality do you spend the most time thinking about? Why is this piece so important to you?

In your heart and in your mind, do you believe the world is the best it can be? What would you change? How can you bring your dreams for the world into the world?

You have a fear. A deep one that only surfaces when you are in significant crisis, maybe it comes out when you’ve had too much to drink. What is this fear? Where did it come from?

How would your caretakers/guardians describe you as a child? How did you think of yourself as a child? How would your caretakers/guardians describe you now? How do you think of yourself now?

What are the secrets, stories, and habits/behaviors that have been passed down through your bloodlines? What can you do to break the negative cycles and promote the positive ones?

Creative Exercises

• If your heart, mind, or soul were a landscape what would it look like? Create a map of these inner landscapes.

• Find a picture of yourself that you love. Find images, small items, letters/momentos that are meaningful to you or symbolize things that bring you joy or goals you wish to achieve and create a mixed media collage. Put it in a special place when finished.

• Start a dream journal and keep track of your dreams. Pay attention to recurring themes, people, or settings. What are these messages trying to tell you? Make collages inspired by your dreams and keep them in a secret place.

• Create an altar in your home and fill it with items and images that are personally sacred to you.

• You are a divine being. What are your sacred symbols? Colors? Create your own likeness as a god or goddess. Over what dominions do you reign? From whom have you come? Who finds their path to the world through you?
